Club Nights
Club nights are a chance for your kids to get moving in a fun environment. Through various activities they learn the foundation skills of athletics, which include running, jumping and throwing. Junior kids are participating in an hour of games and activities, while senior kids are focusing on learning techniques, practicing these throughout the season and giving their best at our Club Champs Competition.

Information
Our club operates out of Shoesmith Reserve in Warkworth, where we meet weekly during the spring and summer season. Club nights are held on Wednesdays and start at 5.30 pm. For the juniors, we are finished by 6.35 pm and no later than 7.00 pm for the seniors. We will run for 8 weeks in term 4 and 6 weeks in term 1, finishing mid to late March. In case of severe rain we will cancel our club nights (no refunds will be given).
Age of Athletes
We are open for juniors from the age of 3 to 6 and seniors aged 7 to 14. Your child's age is based on how old they are on 31st December of the year when the season starts.
Registration
We aim to open registration towards the end of August. You can register your child/children via the software application GameDay.
Fees
Fees for the year are $100 for Seniors and $55 for Juniors. We offer a discount for families who register three kids or more. The majority of our fees go to New Zealand and Auckland Athletics which provide a number of services including coaching, databases, and club insurance. The club uses the remainder of the money to replace gear and equipment, purchase ribbons and prizes, and pay for coaching and club night support. Your fees will also allow our athletes to compete in a range of club competitions and the Colgate Games. This will be of particular interest to our senior group as we are keen to promote our athletes competing on the regional and national stage.
Parent Expectation
We are an entirely volunteer-led club. Club nights are the most fun when everyone pitches in to help. It is a strict club rule that an adult family member must stay on site for the entirety of each club night. If we become aware that children are being dropped off without a parent in attendance we reserve the right to ask that child not to come the following week, and no refunds will be given.
Group Leaders/ Coaches
Each team will need 2 leaders who take responsibility for a group during our club nights. This involves doing the roll, taking the children from one station to the next, instructing them, recording achievements (seniors) and rewarding ribbons.
If you are interested in volunteering, please let us know in the registration form. Please note we need a minimum of 2 leaders for each group (16-20 children) to make our club nights work.
Committee Members
We are seeking helping with running our club committee. If you are keen to help, please contact us via email or our Facebook page. We can promise it will be a fruitful and rewarding experience. At most, we meet every couple of months and during the season the majority of our work is done on Club Nights.
Uniforms
We do not have a club uniform.
Club Shirts
We are offering the option to purchase club shirts for your kids.
The t-shirts in our club colours with our new logo look great – perfect for all our super hero athletes. These can be purchased during the registration process and are available in sizes 2 – 16.
Competition Shirts
We would like to get more kids competing at regional and national events (incl. Colgate Games, Club Ribbon Days). We have new club shirts available that kids can borrow if they attend any competitions.
Club Champs
Senior kids are competing in the club champs. We will have recording nights through the second half of the season to determine our champs and will celebrate their achievements on the last night of the season.
Communication
We have a club Facebook page where we post updates as required and you will also receive some email communication via GameDay (please make sure these don’t end up in your spam folder). If you ever need to contact us you can also email us.
